TEAM TONY
This morning I walked with Team Tony in the 1st Annual Free to Breathe 5K at Seward Park. This walk was to raise money and awareness for Lung Cancer. I was proud to walk in support of Tony Liu, beloved science teacher from Mt. Rainier. Tony was diagnosed with Lung Cancer at the beginning of 2009 having never been a smoker and living a health conscious life. The five year survival rate for lung cancer is low- not many make it but we believe in the incredible strength and courage of Tony, the wisdom of his medical team, the support of his friends and family and we pray that he beats the odds of this terrible disease. Although he's been on medical leave for about 10 months, it was heart-warming to see so many of his former students there to show support for Mr. Liu. We all love Mr. Liu and we hope to all be walking with him at the 2nd Annual Free to Breathe!
GO TEAM TONY!!!!
