Race Day
Last weekend was the Mercer Island Rotary Half Marathon. Keith participated for the first time and finished in 1 hour, 52 minutes. To me, simply finishing the race is excellent, but as you can see from the photo, Keith had spring in his step throughout. Believe it or not, this picture was taken at mile 13!
Krissy and Margaret went for the more reasonable 5K. Here we are pre-race, hanging out at my house. This was was the kick-off for our own half-marathon training program. We plan to run in the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon this summer. With our official "chip time" of 29:43, we weren't breaking any records, but we met our under-30-minute goal. Not bad considering we were slowed down by congestion on the course the first mile.
3.1 miles down...many training miles to go.
